Delhi. Senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah was sworn in as Karnataka Chief Minister for the second time on Saturday. Siddaramaiah was also administered the oath by Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar, who has become the deputy chief minister in the state government. Apart from this, 8 Congress MLAs were sworn in as ministers in the Karnataka cabinet. None of them are women ministers. According to a report by the non-profit Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Karnataka Election Watch (KEW), 9 (100%) members of the new Karnataka cabinet have criminal cases against them. Out of these, 4 ministers have serious criminal cases registered against them i.e. 44 percent of cabinet ministers have serious criminal cases registered against them. Of the nine ministers whose affidavits were analysed, all 9, i.e. 100%, are millionaires. The average income of 9 ministers is more than Rs 229 crore. Deputy CMD K Shivakumar is the richest minister with assets worth Rs 1413 crore. The report said that the complete data of KG George, one of the 10 ministers, was not available, so information about him could not be revealed. According to the report: Three ministers have declared their educational qualification as 8th to 12th pass, while six ministers have declared their educational qualification as graduate and above. It also said that five ministers have declared their age between 41 and 60 years while four ministers have declared their age between 61 and 80 years. Priyank Kharge, son of Congress president Mallikarjan Kharge, is the lowest-paid minister with an income of around Rs 17 crore. Siddaramaiah, considered the master of ‘Ahinda’ (a Kannada term used for equality of minority OBCs and Dalits), has left a mark in the selection of ministers.
