Guwahati. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday, on the last day of his three-day visit to Assam, offered prayers at the famous Kamakhya Devi temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas located in the Nilachal hill region here. He arrived at the temple from the state guest house along with Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma and Water Resources Minister Piyush Hazarika. Shah and Sharma reached the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, where they offered prayers in the presence of three priests. Home Minister Amit Shah stayed inside the temple for more than 10 minutes and after coming out did the ‘Parikrama’ of the temple.
He was received at the temple by senior priests and officials of the Kamakhya temple. The Union Home Minister welcomed the devotees at the temple and then left for the Assam Administrative Staff College. where he will address the 70th Plenary Session of the North Eastern Council (NEC). Amit Shah will later visit Durgaon in Golaghat district, where he will address the state-level Superintendent of Police Conference. He will then fly to New Delhi from Jorhat’s Roria Airport.
Notably, Amit Shah arrived in Assam on Friday evening and presided over a meeting on ‘Flood Free Assam’. Chief Minister and senior officials were present in the meeting. Union Home Minister party president J. Also attended the core committee meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under the chairmanship of P Nadda. On Saturday, he inaugurated the newly constructed state BJP office and addressed party workers at two events along with Nadda. In Syria, he chaired a regional meeting on drug trafficking and national security. Apart from this, he also held a review meeting of the North East Space Application Center (NESAC).
