Bahraich. A major accident took place during the Barafat procession in UP’s Bahraich district. Six people died, while three others were seriously injured after being struck by a high-tension line. The injured were taken to the Community Health Center for treatment, from where they were referred to Lucknow due to their critical condition. Two children are also among the dead. The incident is from Bhagadava village of Kotwali Nanpara.

According to reports, a procession was being taken out at around 4 am. Meanwhile, the iron bar on the handcart touched 11,000 volts from the high tension line, due to which 4 people died on the spot while two people died during treatment. As soon as the incident was reported, a heavy police force was deployed at the spot. DM and SP also inquired about the condition of the injured. Since the accident, the village has been mourning.

CM Yogi expressed grief.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life in the accident during the procession in Bahraich district. The Chief Minister expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased. CM Yogi also directed the DM and senior police officials to reach the spot as soon as possible.
