Mumbai. Mumbai Police on Saturday arrested Chhota Shakeel’s relative Saleem in connection with an extortion case. Saleem Iqbal Qureshi alias Saleem Phal, a relative of the fugitive gangster Chhota Shakeel, was accused of extortion. He has been detained by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with the investigation. According to sources, they have been sent to custody till October 6.

According to an official, Qureshi was in judicial custody in connection with a case registered by the NIA against fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim and his associates for various illegal activities. He said – Mumbai Crime Branch’s ‘Anti-Extortion Cell’ AEC has taken him into custody in the case of extortion. Dawood Ibrahim’s alleged accomplice Riyaz Bhatti was also arrested earlier in this case. He said that the said case is based on the complaint of a businessman. He said that Bhati and Qureshi had extorted money from them.

Attempt to recover 62 lakh rupees from businessman
According to Mumbai Police sources, between February and August this year, Riyaz Bhatti and Saleem Fruit were trying to extort Rs 62 lakh from a businessman by threatening him. Fearing threats, the complainant transferred 750 thousand rupees to the bank accounts of the accused.

The accused had taken the Range Rover car in the name of his wife.
Apart from this, the complainant also gave a Range Rover vehicle to the accused in the name of his wife. The price of this vehicle is said to be 30 lakh rupees.
