Lausanne (Switzerland). Defense player and vice-captain of the Indian hockey team Harmanpreet Singh has been awarded FIH Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. Along with Harmanpreet Singh, Netherlands’ Felice Albers was adjudged the Female Player of the Year at the FIH Awards on Friday.
At 22 years old, Phyllis Albers has a bag full of trophies. An accomplished player, Albers has been part of the Dutch team’s gold medal-winning campaigns at the FIH Hockey Pro League (2019 and 2020–21), the Euro Hockey Championship 2021, the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and the FIH Hockey Women’s World Cup 2022. Now he got a chance to add another trophy to his name ‘FIH Player of the Year Award’.
