Its treatment requires a total of 52 injections, administered once every 15 days. While the cost of each injection is Rs 1.25 lakh. Gaucher disease occurs in a child only if both parents carry the Gaucher gene. In Gaucher disease, certain fatty substances build up in certain parts of the body, especially the spleen and liver. Due to this, these organs become enlarged and their functioning is disrupted. These fatty substances can also accumulate in bone tissue. This can weaken the bone and increase the risk of fracture.

In which the patient usually dies at the age of 2 years.
