Indore. India lost by 49 runs in the third and final T20 International cricket match against South Africa in Indore on Tuesday. The South African batsmen performed brilliantly. Russo scored an unbeaten 100 off 48 balls with the help of eight sixes and seven fours. Rojo shared a 90-run partnership with de Kock (68) for the second wicket and 87 runs with Tristan Stubbs (23) for the third wicket. South Africa made a huge score of 227 runs for three wickets. In reply, the Indian team lost wickets at regular intervals and were reduced to 178 runs in 18.3 overs. Dinesh Karthik scored 46 runs for India. Suryakumar Yadav also failed to show any brilliance today and scored only 8 runs. However, he was sent in to bat at number five. Surya Kumar has been batting at number four for some time now.
Surya Kumar was adjudged the best player of the series. Meanwhile, he said, “I don’t see the figures, but I am sure that there was a need to score more runs.” My friends sent me figures and numbers on WhatsApp but I didn’t pay much attention. I just wanted to enjoy the game.
On the defeat in the last T20, Surya Kumar said, ‘I could not make a big contribution today. DK played a great game. The way Dinesh Karthik has batted, my number four is under threat. I haven’t thought much about it though.
There is still a lot of room for improvement in bowling: Rohit Sharma
Indian captain Rohit Sharma admitted after the match that there is still a lot of room for improvement in the bowling. “As a team, we said at the beginning that whatever the result, there is always room for improvement,” the Indian captain said. Even if we do well in all three areas, we want to keep getting better. We have to look at our bowling and see what other options we can get in the power play, middle overs and death overs. We were playing against two world class teams. We must have sat down and wondered what we could do better. It will be challenging and we need to find the answer while working in this direction.
