Indian cricket team Complete performance in second ODI against South Africa. Men in Blue won the match by 7 wickets with more than 4 overs to spare. South Africa’s stand-in captain Keshav Maharaj will be unhappy as the bowlers were unable to pick up wickets at regular intervals.
Skipper Shikhar Dhawan will be proud of his team as they did not panic even after losing the openers in the power play overs. The way Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan batted was a treat to watch. Ishan Kishan will be unhappy after being dismissed for 93 runs. While Shreyas has made a strong case for himself in ODIs with a brilliant century.

The South African bowlers were not able to put pressure on the batsmen. The Indian batsmen surprisingly went on the offensive in the middle overs which changed the game. South Africa will hope that Temba Bauma returns to the decisive XI.
South Africa will feel that a score of around 320 on a flat deck would have been more competitive. The team needs to regroup quickly and focus on the next ODI on October 11. The Proteas will be well aware of the fact that their direct qualification for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is very slim.
We did not expect dew to be such an element here – Keshav Maharaj
During the post-match presentation, Keshav Maharaj was asked about his decision to bat first. ,We didn’t expect dew to be such a factor here, so we opted for batting.

He added that Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer batted well.
“We tried what we could, Shreyas and Kishan played very well. We thought the track would get slower and shorter as the game progressed. But because of the soft ball and the dew, batting after the 30th over. Made easy.
