Jammu. The entire administrative staff is shocked by the killing of Director General of Police (Prisons) Hemant Kumar Lohia in the central region of Jammu and Kashmir. The name of her domestic servant Yasir Ahmed has emerged as the main accused. Yasir was absconding since the incident and was arrested by the police on Tuesday. The police had launched a massive operation to arrest him. The entire area was sealed so that the accused could not leave the area. Amidst all this, the diary of the suspected killer Yasir Ahmed was found, which reveals his mental state. Along with this, high officials are continuously visiting the residence of deceased Hemant Kumar Lohi.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Arun Mehta, Home Secretary RK Goyal, Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh and other officers reached the house of Director General Jail Hemant Kumar Lohia. Along with this, senior police officers also inspected the part of Lohia’s residence where he was killed. According to J&K ADGP Mukesh Singh, Hemant Kumar Lohia was murdered at his friend’s house in Udayala on Monday night. He said that Yasir Ahmad (aged 23), a resident of Rambin who was a domestic worker, had fled from the spot. In the preliminary investigation, he has been identified as the main accused. Mukesh Singh said that after the murder of Hemant Kumar Lohia, the forensic science team has collected some samples. They are currently being investigated.

Hemant Kumar Lohia was appointed Director General of Police (Prisons) in August. 1992 batch IPS Hemant Kumar Lohia hailed from Guwahati and was recently posted as Director General (Prisons Department) on August 3. He was also awarded several medals for his outstanding services. It includes Relative Police Medal, Sher Kashmir Medal etc. Hemant Kumar Lohia, who held many positions in the Jammu and Kashmir Police, had a good image in the department and society. Preliminary investigation by the police has revealed that an attempt was made to kill Hemant Kumar Lohia and burn his body.
