Srinagar: An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Baskochan area of ​​Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday morning. Security forces killed a Lashkar terrorist. The slain terrorist has been identified as Naseer Ahmed Butt, a resident of Baskochan in Nowpura, Shopian district, who is affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. A 47 rifle, arms and ammunition including incriminating material have been recovered from him. According to ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, he was involved in several terror offenses and recently escaped from an encounter.

Earlier on the night of September 29, security forces had encircled two terrorists in Shopian. In fact, the security forces received information late at night that some terrorists were gathering in Chittagong. After that, a search operation was started, but due to darkness, they managed to escape. Since then, agencies were on high alert in the district. Along with this, two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Baramulla’s Yediporapattan area.

ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar confirmed this and said that the identification of both the terrorists who were killed is being done. The two terrorists were given an opportunity to surrender before being killed, but when they refused to surrender, they were shot dead. He said that the search operation is going on after the death of terrorists in Baramulla. Earlier, three terrorists were killed in South Kashmir’s Kulgam on Tuesday and Monday. Security forces launched a siege in Ahwatu village of the district on information about the presence of terrorists, police said. Meanwhile, when the encirclement was tightened, the hidden terrorists tried to escape by firing, but the security forces did not give them a chance.

Even after several appeals to surrender, they refused and continued firing on the security forces. After that the security forces also retaliated. Two terrorists were killed in the encounter that lasted for about four hours. Kashmir ADGP Vijay Kumar said that there were reports of two local terrorists being surrounded, in which both were killed. Both were involved in several terrorist incidents. A day before on Monday, Jaish chief Pakistani terrorist Abu Hurira was killed in an encounter in Batpura area. Arms, hand grenades were recovered from him. The condition of the youth and two civilians injured in the encounter is improving. Here the security forces killed both the terrorists.
