Mumbai. India pacer Jasprit Bumrah is battling a back injury that could rule him out of the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia. The Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked its medical team to thoroughly assess his fitness and has not lost hope of the star bowler’s participation in the T20 World Cup starting on October 16. .
Mohammad Siraj has been included in India’s squad for the remaining two T20 Internationals against South Africa due to injury to fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, the BCCI said on Friday. The news comes after he recently spent time in a rehabilitation center due to back problems. Due to this problem, Bumrah could not play in Asia Cup 2022.
However, BCCI sources told News18 that the medical team is repeatedly examining and scanning Bumrah. He will not leave for Australia with the Indian team on October 6 and could fly to the T20 World Cup at a later date if he is fit.
