Kanpur. On the night of October 1, a heartbreaking accident took place in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. 26 people lost their lives in this accident here. All these deceased were riding in a tractor trolley. The shocking post-mortem report of the accident was released on Monday. It revealed that people died not from injuries but from drowning and suffocation.

In fact, most of the deaths during the accident were women and children. The tractor-trolley had fallen into a ditch on the side of the road. It was filled with 3 feet to 4 feet of water. People were crushed under it. More than half of the 26 died by drowning. If the roadside ditches were not filled with water, so many lives might not have been lost.

Minor scratch marks on bodies
It is being told that 13 children died during this time. All died by drowning. Some people got trapped inside the tractor trolley and suffocated. They found no way out. The post-mortem report of the bodies also revealed that there were few injury marks on the bodies. Only minor scratch marks have been found on them.

CM Yogi took charge.
Importantly, as soon as the accident was reported, CM Yogi himself took command and started taking the officers on the line. They continued monitoring the relief operations till late night. Canceling his scheduled programs, CM Yogi arrived in Kanpur amidst the casualties. He became a protector here and knew the sufferings of the oppressed. After the accident, CM Yogi Adityanath announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.

The CM took the information moment by moment.
The matter did not end here, the Chief Minister monitored the entire incident till late night and took minute to minute information from the officers. CM Yogi hastily directed two senior ministers of the state government to go to the spot with immediate effect and on the other hand arranged for proper treatment of the injured in the hospital.
