According to exclusive information received by News18, the government is planning to install a giant ferris wheel on a small island in the middle of Srinagar’s Dal Lake. A senior central government official told News18 that if the move goes ahead, it could become a major tourist attraction and send an important message to Kashmir. The short-listed site for the giant ferris wheel is Dol Damb, a piece of land inside the Dal Lake, which is planned to be developed as a special area for recreational activities. News18 has learned that the Jammu and Kashmir Lake Conservation and Management Authority has sought the opinion of international experts for the pre-feasibility study of the Ferris wheel project in Dal Lake last week.

Global experts will conduct a detailed analysis of giant ferris wheel projects around the world of at least 100 meters in diameter. In the pre-feasibility study, if the project is cleared, there will be a techno-economic feasibility study, then a tender will be issued for the preparation of a detailed project report, which will ultimately select an agency for implementation. will Will lead the project. Ferris wheel project can act as a stimulus for more than 5000 tourists and 775 houseboats with hunting capacity in Dal and Nagan lakes.
