Marathwada Rain Update: The returning rain has once again created panic in Marathwada. It has been raining heavily in Marathwada for the last two-three days and today it has rained in some areas. Marathwada division has recorded an average of 20.2 mm of rain in the last 24 hours, while 14 revenue divisions of five districts have recorded heavy rains. Because of this, crops have suffered a lot due to this rain.

After two days of rain in Aurangabad and Marathwada, a yellow alert has been issued in Marathwada for two more days. There is a possibility of more or less rain in all the eight districts on Saturday. Heavy rains lashed parts of Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed, Nanded, Latur, Osmanabad districts on Saturday and Sunday. While Marathwada division was expected to receive 695.6 mm of rain, 806.4 mm of rain has been recorded. In which the highest 130 percent rain has been recorded in Nanded, while Jalna has recorded 129.76 percent rain.

The heavy rain on Friday has also engulfed Beed district. Due to this, rivers have been flooded in many areas. While Majalgaon dam of Beed district is 100 percent full. At present 15 thousand cusecs of water is being poured into Majalgaon dam and only 15 thousand cusecs is being released. Interestingly, the dam area has recorded 560 mm of rain so far.

So the closed doors have been opened once again. 18 gates of Jayakwadi dam have been opened and water is being released from it at the rate of 18 thousand 864 cusecs. Due to this the Godavari river has once again flooded. The dam administration has informed that if the flow of water increases, then the discharge will also increase.
