New Delhi. In the 12th match of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 9), Haryana Steelers beat Tamil Thalaivas 27-22 in a low-scoring match. This is Haryana’s second straight win this season. With this, the Thalaivas have suffered their first defeat of the season. Thalaivas’ first match was tied. Pawan Sehrawat was not available for this match due to injury. Thalaivas felt short of breath. The match started very slowly and neither team managed to score 10 points in the first 10 minutes.
In another match, Telugu Titans defeated Patna Pirates to get their first win of the season. Titans beat Patna Pirates 30-21.
Readers Steelers and Thalaivas from both teams were constantly struggling and the score was moving forward thanks to the defenders. Just before the end of the first half, Haryana’s Manjeet grabbed two points in a single raid to put Thalaivas close to an all-out. Haryana lead 14-8 after Thalaivas was dismissed in the 19th minute. After losing the first two matches in a row, the Titans got their first victory. Along with this, the Patna team lost their second match in a row. Taking a big decision before the match, Titans dropped their captain Ravinder Pahal from the team and handed over the captaincy to Surjeet Singh.
Titans looked in control from the start of the match. Patna also played cautiously and did not allow the Titans to take the lead further. However, in the 17th minute, Mono Gwat bowled Patna all out in one raid to give the Titans an 8-point lead. The Titans held their 8-point lead at halftime.
