At the 68th National Film Awards 2020 held in Delhi, film producers Ashutosh Gowariker, Sunita Gowariker, director Mardol Tulsidas and child artiste Varun Buddhadev were honored with two awards for their film ‘Tulsidas Jr’. Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, who won his first award for the 2001 sports drama Lagaan, has now bagged his second National Award for Tulsidass Jr. Expressing his happiness, he said, “Tulsidas Jr. is my first production venture to offer a platform to a young and new director, and I feel this win as a confirmation that more than Want to do more. The film inspires the filmmakers. Tell their stories. I am extremely grateful to Bhushan Kumar, the entire film team and the jury for making this possible.”

While the film’s director Mardol Tulsidas says, “I can’t believe what I’m feeling! Tulsidas Jr. is not only my first film but also a glimpse of my own childhood, the story is a tribute to my father and his journey. I hope I have made him proud by respecting his love for snooker and the values ​​he instilled in me. I wish my on-screen father Rajeev Kapoor was with us today. I will always be grateful to Ashutosh sir for believing in me and my story and blessing me with his vision and guidance throughout the journey.”

Ashutosh Gowariker Production’s Tulsidas Junior is co-produced by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishna Kumar, Ashutosh Gowariker and Sunita Gowariker. While its writer and director is Mardol Tulsidas.
