Indore. South Africa defeated India by 49 runs in the third and final T20I match but lost the series 1-2 after Riley Rossouw’s maiden century in the third and final T20 International here on Tuesday. Batting first, South Africa made a huge total of 227 runs for three wickets. Chasing the target, Team India collapsed to 178 runs in 18.3 overs. Dinesh Karthik scored 46 runs for India. Apart from them, only Deepak Chahar (31), Rishabh Pant (27) and Umesh Yadav (20 not out) could touch the 20-run mark.
Surya Kumar, who has been brilliant with the bat in the last few matches, couldn’t do much and departed for 8 off 6 balls. In the post-match presentation, captain Rohit Sharma spoke about India’s performance in the T20 series against Australia and South Africa. He emphasized that the team presented a tough challenge against both the countries.

Rohit also spoke about India’s concerns, and then couldn’t contain his laughter when it came to Suryakumar Yadav’s form. “If we talk about problems, Surya Kumar’s form is a bit of a concern,” Rohit said. Saying this, they start laughing. Murali Karthik, who is asking the question, also laughs and says, ‘I think that would be the least of your other concerns!’

Soon after, Rohit seriously says that there is still a lot of room for improvement in bowling and he has to look at different options. The Indian captain said after the match, ‘As a team, we said at the beginning that whatever the result, there is always room for improvement. Even if we do well in all three areas, we want to keep getting better.
“It is a matter of concern, we have to look at our bowling, what other options we can get in the power play, middle overs and death overs,” Rohit said. We were playing against two world class teams. We must have sat down and wondered what we could do better. It will be challenging and we need to find the answer while working in this direction.
Rohit said more clarity is needed on what the players want to achieve. “The players need a lot of clarity about what they want to achieve and it’s my job to make sure that happens,” he said. We want to keep doing that.
